FAQ

How long will it take to produce a map?
If the spatial data is available a map can be produced in less than a day. Acquiring spatial data can delay the process. We can suggest strategies to expedite the process.

What data can be plotted on a map?
Any data that is in a spreadsheet or database format can be plotted, a minimum of one column is required that can identify the spatial attributes of the data; e.g. and address, town, district etc.

What format must the data be in?
Preferably the data must be in a spreadsheet(Excel) or database formats such as Access, SQL or Oracle.

What sizes of maps can be produced?
The most common sizes runs from A4 to A0 for printing purposes. Maps for digital use such as websites and projectors can be supplied. When designing the map the intended size must be known; a A0 printed map can contain a lot more detail than a map produced to show on a projector.

How much information can be showed on one map?
A map must be able to communicate information in a clear uncluttered way. Sometimes maps contain to much information and the intended message is lost. Rather than cramming to much info onto one map is to have the same base map with different themes for different data types.

Can the maps be used in publications and presentations?
Yes the maps can be produced for a wide variety of applications, and you have unlimited use of the maps. The only requirement that we have is to leave our company name and logo in place.

In what format do you supply maps?
Maps can be supplied in printer format from A4 to A0 laminated or plain. Electronically the popular formats are PDF, Jpeg or PNG.

How much will it cost?
The greatest expense is normally data collection and verification. It is best if we discuss your requirements and quote in detail. We have also a retainer option for a fixed monthly fee that makes budgeting and cost controlling a lot easier.
